Mark and Dallas Henslee |

Personal History:
Mark Henslee came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and
Savior in April 1977 at Emanuel Baptist Church East (later known
as East Tucson Baptist Church). He grew under the wings of Pastor
Si Davis. At a Royal Ambassadors camp in the summer of 1983, Mark
was called to vocational ministry. Later, while attending college
at the University of Arizona, the call was clarified to be a bi-vocational
ministry. It was several years of growing and maturing for Mark
to come to the point of moving forward to pursue full time ministry.
Mark moved to Denton, Texas in 1992 to be with and marry Dallas
Koenig, a long time pen pal from church camp. While in Denton, Mark
completed a Bachelors degree in accounting and obtained a Masters
in Entrepreneurial Accounting. With this education he established
a career as a Certified Public Accountant.
Church Planting Vision:
On April 16, 1999, God gave Mark a vision for planting a church
in Fountain, Colorado. Mark and Dallas were visiting with a pastor
working on a church plant. While standing in a model home looking
at a map of Fountain Valley and the new houses being built the Lord
placed on Mark’s heart a vision to establish a church that
would build relationships among and provide for the spiritual well
being of the people that would be living in that community. In June
1999 the Henslee family packed up and left Denton for the unknown
of Colorado. While the initial church plant didn’t work out,
God has been laying the foundation for Heritage of Praise Fellowship.
In the summer of 2002, Mark felt it was time to pursue the vision
of three years prior. The next year was spent laying the foundation
and making further contacts for the building of HOP. In November
2002, Mark resigned from his position at a local accounting firm
and in February 2003 started Mark A Henslee, CPA, P.C. to accommodate
a more flexible schedule and to be able to devote more time to pastoring
and developing the church. Mark has found that each step of the
way has to be in God’s timing and plan. Heritage of Praise
is God’s church and is being built brick by brick by the Master
Builder Himself.
Pastor Andy Hornbaker:
William (Andy) Hornbaker is a minister of the Gospel, and finds
that he bests serves in that capacity through a local church. He
has served as pastor for over 20 years and his main gifts are teaching,
leading, and as a visionary. He loves the local church and enjoys
working with it on just about any and every level.
Andy has a master of divinity degree and a varied background of
leadership and ministry experiences within the Christian movement.
He has spoken in a number of settings within the United States,
and has also spoken in many international situations. He has traveled
fairly extensively, and feels that his study and experience of other
cultures allows him to be better prepared to engage the ever emerging
postmodern generation in which we all live.
Andy is married to his wife Penny of 30 years, and has 3 children.
